Solutions — Metro & Rail Transit
Built for the Track.
Above the Tunnel.
Always Safe.
Metro tunnels, elevated rail structures, station canopies and rolling stock depots demand machines engineered precisely for the rail environment. The Chenlift TG Series — three purpose-built platforms for articulating access, overhead work, and hoisting transport — where standard machines cannot go.
The Rail & Metro Challenge
Why Standard Lift Equipment
Cannot Enter the Rail Environment
Rail maintenance demands more than height. Every specification has a safety or operational rationale — and most standard AWPs fail on at least one critical dimension.
Application Scenarios
Where the TG Series Works
in the Rail Environment
HA12JRTG — Articulating Boom Rail-Mounted AWP
The HA12JRTG travels on rail via a customised steel-wheel set driven by the vehicle’s original diesel power system, with 360° non-continuous turntable rotation for full coverage from a fixed position on the track. The rail guidance system delivers ultra-high stability — minimal deflection and sway — under extended boom conditions, critical for precision overhead work in tunnel environments.
With a 140° jib swing angle and 1.5m jib extension, the HA12JRTG can reach up and over tunnel infrastructure and catenary support structures with a 6.56m up-and-over clearance. The anti-tipping control and emergency stop system provide active safety under external wind force and dynamic loads. Platform levelling is hydraulic for consistent working position at any boom angle.
CLP10TG — Crawler Rail-Mounted AWP
The CLP10TG uses a crawler-type chassis for adaptability across complex railway site surfaces — ballast, trackbed, depot concrete, and station floor — with the ability to switch to steel-wheel travel mode when operating on rails, reducing equipment transition time between on-track and off-track positions.
At 1.2m stowed width and 2.2m stowed height, the CLP10TG passes through standard tunnel access doors and can be repositioned between worksites without special transport. The 48V/240Ah all-electric system provides long endurance for full-night engineering windows, with zero exhaust emissions for enclosed tunnel and station environments. The turntable provides 345° non-continuous rotation for minimal equipment relocation during overhead tasks.
MC400TG — Crawler Rail-Mounted Hoisting Transport Vehicle
The MC400TG is a multi-functional tracked transport vehicle integrating railway emergency rescue and hoisting transportation. The 6.5t tracked chassis adapts to various complex road conditions. The upper structure is a detachable high-strength platform of 2.2m × 1.2m, carrying a 3-section boom crane with 3t maximum hoisting capacity at a 4m horizontal working range.
Primary power is pure electric for silent, emission-free depot and tunnel operation, with a 3.6kW RD178 diesel engine as emergency backup — ensuring continuity in power-failure scenarios. The dual-mode track and steel-wheel system enables use on both highways and railways. With a 1.2m stowed width and 1.93m stowed height, the MC400TG meets railway site trafficability requirements through tunnel access doors.

“We specified the CLP10TG for tunnel overhead work across multiple metro sections. The 1.2m stowed width was the deciding factor — it passes through our standard tunnel access doors without modification. The all-electric system runs a full engineering window on a single charge, and the dual crawler/steel-wheel mode means we can reposition on-track without a secondary vehicle. The MC400TG has since been added to our fleet for equipment transport and emergency recovery.”
“The HA12JRTG’s rail guidance system was the key specification we needed — the machine travels on our existing 1.5m gauge track and the articulating boom gives us full reach across the tunnel cross-section from a single track position. Zero deflection under extended boom conditions is something we could not achieve with wheeled equipment. Documentation and CE compliance were provided in full within the procurement timeline.”
Custom & OEM
Rail-Specific Engineering
From Our R&D Team
Standard TG Series products solve the majority of rail access requirements. Custom configurations are engineered for specific track gauges, authority documentation requirements, and fleet programmes.
The HA12JRTG standard rail gauge is 1.5m. Custom wheel sets for other gauges (1,435mm standard, 1,000mm, 1,067mm) are available as OEM options. Engineering drawings and load calculations provided with each custom specification.
CE Declaration of Conformity, test reports, risk assessment templates, operator training materials, and maintenance schedules compiled as a complete project documentation pack for rail authority submission.
Custom RAL colours, operator logos, and fleet numbering for depot identity programmes. Consistent livery across a TG Series fleet simplifies maintenance record tracking and machine identification.
All three TG Series models are compatible with construction lighting and inspection equipment integration. Custom mounting, cable management, and power take-off configurations available for specific inspection tool requirements.
FAQ
TG Series Questions
Common questions from rail operators and infrastructure contractors. Our team responds within 24 hours.
Ask Our Team →What rail gauge does the HA12JRTG support?
The standard HA12JRTG specification uses a 1.5m rail gauge with customised rail wheel sets. The wheel sets are driven by the vehicle’s original Yanmar diesel power system. Custom gauge configurations for 1,435mm standard gauge, 1,067mm, and 1,000mm metre-gauge tracks are available as OEM options — contact us with your track specification.
Can the CLP10TG pass through standard tunnel access doors?
Yes. The CLP10TG has a stowed width of 1.2m and stowed height of 2.2m, which meets the passage requirements for standard tunnel access doors used in metro systems. The flip-up front and rear axles reduce the machine footprint for access and also provide the 25% gradeability needed for ramps and sloped access routes.
How does the MC400TG switch between crawler and steel-wheel mode?
The MC400TG’s dual-mode system allows switching between crawler travel for off-track surfaces and steel-wheel rail travel for on-track operation. This transition reduces equipment transfer time between worksite access and on-track positioning. Specific switching procedure details are covered in the operator documentation supplied with each unit.
What is the MC400TG emergency diesel backup for?
The 3.6kW RD178 diesel engine is an emergency power system only — it is not the primary drive. Primary operation is pure electric via the 48V/240Ah battery system. The diesel backup ensures the machine can be moved and the crane operated if the battery system is depleted or fails during a remote or tunnel worksite, preventing the machine from being stranded on live track.
Can all three TG Series models be supplied with inspection lighting equipment?
Yes. All three models are designed to accommodate construction lighting and inspection equipment as part of their rail-site configuration. Custom mounting brackets, cable management, and power integration for specific lighting or inspection tools are available as OEM options — provide your equipment specifications at order stage.
Is third-party inspection (SGS, Bureau Veritas, TÜV) supported?
Yes. Pre-shipment inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas, TÜV Rheinland, and other internationally recognised bodies is supported for all TG Series models. Arrange at order placement — we coordinate inspection scheduling and provide full factory access at our Suzhou facility.
